Youth Ministry

The East Side Youth Ministry is a community of students, leaders and parents exploring and growing in the freedom and joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. Our vision is to be a Gospel-centered, prayer-saturated, worshipful community, marked by grace and love, with students who love, know, live with, enjoy, and glorify God.

For Middle School, our mission is to cultivate an exciting and welcoming youth community of independent young believers, where students can engage in life-giving activities, develop friendships, and deepen their understanding of God.

For High School, our mission is to reflect the biblical picture of community by cultivating a nurturing environment in which students grow closer to God, develop a rich spiritual life, deeply connect with one another, and seek to serve the needs of the larger church body and city.

Regular Youth Programs

Middle School

  • Dive Deep - Sunday Mornings from 9:15-10:15am at Hunter College during the school year. Most Sundays we will be diving in to looking at pop culture and the messages it sends compared to the truths the Bible tells us in order to help students practically apply scripture. Register your Middle Schooler here!
    • Once a month we will be exploring apologetics in hopes to help students take more independance of their faith through a deeper understanding and ability to defend their beliefs.
  • Friday Night Gatherings (FNG) - Friday Nights from 6:15-8:15pm at Park Avenue United Methodist Church (86th near Park Ave.), unless otherwise noted. We will use this time to share a meal, play games, spend time in worship, and hear a weekly teaching based on Ephesians followed by small group time.
    • About once a month we will host an offsite event to allow students to invite friends to plug in and help foster friendships within the group.

High School

  • Community Group - Sunday after the morning service from 12:15-2:00pm at Hunter College during the school year. This will be a time for our High Schoolers to build community and deepen their knowledge of biblical truths. We will share a meal together followed by a discussion on the book of John. Once a month we will be exploring apologetics in hopes to help students take on more ownership of their faith through a deeper understanding of spiritual truths.
  • Monthly service Opportunities  - One Saturday a month, students and available parents are invited to serve in different areas of the city. This is a great time to invite friends to really focus on being an outward facing community.
