Holy Week 2021
Holy Week at Redeemer East Side
We hope you'll invite friends, neighbors and coworkers to join us either in-person or virtually for worship. You can learn more about the measures we are taking for in-person services as you consider joining us at Temple Israel. Check out the worship service details below.
March 28 at 10:30 a.m.
On Palm Sunday we commemorate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem when palm branches were laid before his path. You can watch the service on our YouTube channel here.
April 2, at 7 p.m.
On Good Friday we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus. This year, we will held a Tenebrae service using candles to signify the seven words of Christ from the cross and end the service in darkness. You can watch the service on our YouTube channel here.
April 4 at 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with the hope and power from the good news that he has conquered death. This year's services will feature a virtual choir, stories of transformed lives, an offering for the marginalized of our city, and a message sharing the hope of the resurrection. We hope you can join us, and we invite you to prayerfully consider who you might invite into this hope! To attend in person, please register below.
You can also join us online on our YouTube channel. The service will livestream at 9:30 a.m. and will remain available throughout the day.
Post-Service Picnic, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join us after worship for a casual come-and-go style picnic in Central Park. Celebrate Christ's resurrection with us; everyone is invited! Learn more here.
The resurrection of Jesus is far more than a symbol of eternal hope — it is the very power of God released into the world to restore all that is broken in the material world around us. As we reflect upon Christ's lavish generosity this Easter season, we encourage you to support Hope for New York (HFNY), our partner for compassion and justice through our annual Easter Sacrificial Offering. 100% of your giving will go directly to affiliates via HFNY direct grants, enabling these affiliates to continue their various programs in their neighborhoods.
