Redeemer East Side Update

ES Town Hall Video invitation

A few Sundays ago I took some time in our services to highlight some of the exciting ways that 2017 will be nothing less than a transformative year for us. So much of our Rise vision will start to become a reality: new Redeemer sites, more City to City church plants, and the launch of the most comprehensive discipleship initiative ever undertaken at Redeemer. On top of all that, Redeemer East Side will become our own stand-alone church in 2017!

In order to share more about all these developments, we are hosting two very important Town Halls that we hope everyone at Redeemer East Side will make every effort to attend. The first will take place on Sunday, February 12 after both services in the Hunter auditorium. The second will be on Sunday, April 2. You can expect to hear more about what it means to become our own particular church as well as get updates on things like the East Side building. Most importantly, we will pray together for all that God will be doing in our midst during this exciting season. Take a moment right now to mark your calendar!

In light of all this, now is a great to consider how God may be calling you to be more generous in all areas of your life and personal ministry. To that end, you should have received a generosity packet in the mail that we hope is helpful. And please continue to take advantage of all the classes and other opportunities we are offering to help us love and serve others with radical generosity.

I am praying that 2017 will be a transformative year not just for Redeemer East Side, but for you too!

Warmly,

Rev. Abraham Cho
East Side Congregation Lead Pastor

Hannah was born in Boston and was raised a faithful Red Sox fan while growing up in England, California, and South Korea. (Her freshman year at M.I.T. was richly rewarded with the first World Series in 86 years!) She moved to the city after college to study neuroscience but will readily admit that her Ph.D. is the third best thing that happened here, after Redeemer and her husband Topher. Her love for the East Side grew through a life changing experience in community, and she now co-leads a CG on the UES. She joined the East Side team in 2016 to serve the congregation’s educational activities and loves combining vocational ministry with academic administration. Outside of work, she enjoys hobbies such as jigsaw puzzles, calligraphy, and origami. She's a firm believer of the Oxford comma, that Christmas music is for all year round, and that the Lion King is the best Disney movie ever made (though she will happily sing along to any Disney tune). She and her husband currently live in Brooklyn where they cook a lot of Korean and Tex-Mex, brew their own beer, and dream about owning a dog someday.
