Redeemer East Side Update

Spring magnolias 2

The Bible uses two different words when referring to time in different ways. The first word, chronos, refers to the simple passing of sequential time. It’s where we get the word chronological. The second word, kairos, however refers to a moment in time that is marked by profound meaning and fullness. It’s not the kind of time that simply passes; it is the kind of time that seems to stand still. It is a defining moment.

In just over a week, we will have one of these defining moments in our history. At our Congregational Meeting on Saturday, May 20, church members will cast a series of votes that will represent a significant step forward toward our future as a family of neighborhood churches. We will be voting to make Redeemer three particular churches, each with its own elder board, membership, officers, and budget. It will truly be a kairos moment.

If you are a member, we not only want you to be present to experience this historic moment, but we want you to feel prepared to participate in it. So, if you haven’t done so already, please be sure to read through the information we’ve posted at http://www.redeemer.com/threechurches in advance of May 20th. You’ll see that there are a lot of changes and we don’t want you to be surprised by any of it.

Also, don’t forget to RSVP here. I look forward to seeing you next Saturday for a defining moment in our history!

Warmly,

Rev. Abraham Cho
East Side Congregation Lead Pastor
