Children's Ministry Information
Redeemer East Side's Children's Ministry
We are building a counter-cultural community that disciples children in their journey to know Jesus personally, to follow Him with their lives, and to be on mission with Him by sharing the good news of what He’s done across cultures.
Redeemer East Side meets at our new church building located at 150 E 91st St (91st & Lex). Service times are at 10:30am and 5pm. Children's classes for infants through 5th grade will be offered at both service times.
Parent Handout
Please be sure to read through our Parent Handout. It explains a few new policies and procedures pertaining to our church building. Here are some highlights:
- Children's Check-In will be at the main desk just after you walk through security.
- Stroller parking will be in the Commons just past check-in at the main desk, but space is limited.
- Only ONE parent/guardian is permitted to drop off and pick up children from classes.
- At pick-up, you must show your security tag to be permitted onto the children's floors.
- If you have not done so already, please download the Redeemer app. This makes the check-in process much simpler for all.

5pm Service
Our children’s ministry team has been working diligently over the last months to build a program for children during the evening service that gives them the opportunity to experience Jesus and the gospel of what he's done for us.
First, we will offer two mixed aged classes at 5pm each week:
- Nursery Classroom
- Elementary Classroom
Nursery Class: Our nursery class will be run by two amazing staff members and one weekly volunteer. The nursery class will open for check in at 4:40pm each Sunday. Like the morning service, during class the children will play together, sing praises together, learn from our nursery curriculum (the famous "Basket Lady"), and participate in crafts and sensory activities that reinforce the Bible lesson for the day.
Elementary Class: Our elementary children will begin in corporate worship with their families and then will be dismissed after the Passing of the Peace, just as we do in the morning service. At dismissal, they will meet our new evening coordinator, Mallory King, and the elementary volunteers at the back of the sanctuary near the elevators, and then travel upstairs to their classroom. For the Advent season they will play and learn together as a mixed age group with the Storymakers curriculum, a creative and artistic journey through the scriptures surrounding Jesus’ birth.
Snack Time: Because of the timing of the evening service, our team will also implement an extended snack/mealtime for all children during their class each week. During this time children can always eat the snack we provide, or your family is welcome to bring a packed dinner or hefty snack for your child to enjoy during meal time. We are hopeful that this extended eating time will curb evening hunger and "hangry" feelings for our little ones, while also training them in the spiritual practice of Eating together with other brothers and sisters in Christ.
