Lent Book Club

April 06, 2022 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This Lenten season, join us as we deepen our understanding of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Together we’ll be reading and discussing Crucifixion by Fleming Rutledge, one of the great theologians of our day. We’ll read one chapter each week of Lent, and we’ll meet weekly via Zoom on Wednesdays from March 16 through Holy Week. We hope to see you there!

(Please purchase the book before the group begins.)*

From the back of the book: "Countering our contemporary tendency to bypass Jesus’ crucifixion, Rutledge in these pages examines in depth all the various themes and motifs used by the New Testament evangelists and apostolic writers to explain the meaning of the cross of Christ. She mines the classical writings of the Church Fathers, the medieval scholastics, and the Reformers as well as more recent scholarship, while bringing them all into contemporary context."
