EVENT DETAILS
Bring out the whole family for a safe, fun and festive evening! Kids can dress up, enjoy trick-or-treating through the decorated classroom doors of our building, fill their buckets with candy, play games, do crafts, and make sweet memories. This free community event is open to everyone, no registration required and walk-ins welcome! We’d love to see you there!
There will be fall games, pumpkin painting, crafts, temporary tattoos, a popcorn station, hot chocolate, and candy galore. We hope to see you on Halloween!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Fill out this form to register to volunteer!
We are in great need of many volunteers in order to make this event a success for our neighborhood children! If you remember trunk-or-treating growing up, this is the NYC version!
We have 18 classroom doors on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors which would each be decorated and then manned by a volunteer to hand out candy to trick or treaters on Friday evening.
Hallway Volunteers:
These volunteers will sign up to “own a door” which means you would come up with the idea for door decorations (no witches, or scary decorations please), purchase the supplies to decorate and then decorate your door in advance of the fall festival at one of the decoration parties. RES will supply tape, scissors and glue and you provide the rest to decorate! Door decorating times are Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon, and again Oct. 31 from 1 to 3 m. If those times don’t work for you but you are excited to own a door, email [email protected] to find a time to decorate.
After decorating your door, you are responsible for handing out candy at your door during Fall Festival from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until candy runs out!). RES will provide the candy you provide the excitement!
Front Door Volunteers:
You will need to meet in the Commons at 3:30pm on Oct. 31. You will be stationed at the front door of the building and the corner of E 91st handing out candy and welcoming and inviting kids into the festival.
Commons Volunteers
You will need to arrive at 2 m. to help set up the Commons with crafts, snacks and games provided by RES. From 4 to 6 m.,you will be responsible for helping families as they participate in games and activities in the commons.
To sign up to volunteer, please fill out this form. If you have any questions please contact [email protected]!
