Prayer of Lament

We lament over the events that took place in Israel on October 7 and the following days. We mourn over the loss of life, we grieve over the incredible human suffering that terrorism and hatred has brought about, we are angered by the depravity and evil, and we pray for peace.

Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, we mourn deeply. Lord, the loss of life and human suffering is unbearable. We grieve. Bring peace, Lord. Bring justice and peace. Only you can accomplish this among these communities, among these peoples. Lord have mercy, and Lord come quickly! Amen.
