Summer Schedule

Whether you're taking a break from the regular grind or you’re new to our city and church, we’d love to spend time with each other. We’ve got a handful of ways we can live life together during these summer months. There’s socials, monthly newcomer lunches, classes, and a Spanish Community Group to give you a chance to meet other folks at Redeemer East Side. Check out our summer schedule below, and we hope to see you there!

Did you know the term originated in the 1980s when a Taco John's owner in Wyoming created "Taco Twosday" to increase business on a slow day by offering two tacos for 99 cents? The deal was so popular, it spread to other locations, and the name was eventually changed to "Taco Tuesday" and trademarked in 1989. Bring your neighbor, coworker, and Community Group. Two tacos for $7!

Newcomer Lunches

Are you new to Redeemer East Side? We'd love to meet you! On the second Sunday of each month this summer, we invite you to join us for lunch after the worship service to get to know our staff, members of our community, and other newcomers. It will also be a great way to learn more about the mission and vision of Redeemer East Side, and the many ways you can get involved. Lunch is on us! Meet us on the third floor after the service, for a meal here in Temple Israel. If possible, please register in advance so that we can plan appropriately. Walk-ins welcome.

Dates: Sundays, June 9, July 14, and August 11 at 12:15pm
Location: Temple Israel's Cry Room: take the elevators down the hallway past the Sanctuary up to the third floor, and you will see the Cry Room with a sign posted outside

New Classes

The After Party

Register | Sundays - June 16, 30; July 14, 28; August 11, 25 from 12:15-1:45pm
Location: Temple Israel, Room 405

The After Party is a six-part video course designed to provide people of faith with an on-the-ground, biblically based approach to navigating today’s challenging political environment.

It’s no secret that the church has been challenged by extreme polarization, entrenched tribal affiliations, and the broken relationships that often result. This course is both inspiring and practical and will help you reorient your heart and mind towards a Christ-centered political identity for 2024 and beyond.

Through interactive videos that encourage participants to inventory their own political identities, consider the “how” vs. the “what” of politics, and explore what the Bible has to say about it all, you’ll be equipped to navigate these challenging topics in your own life and within the community you lead.

Finding Identity: A Journey Through 1 John

Registration Required | Wednesdays - June 26; July 10, 24; August 7, 21 from 7-8:30pm
WeWork midtown

The issue of identity is central to human existence. How we view ourselves deeply influences the way we live in the world.

Many questions arise when the topics of identity and Christianity come together: Is identity given to us or is it something we discover or create for ourselves? Do people have inherent worth or must value be earned? What should we do with base motives and inclinations we discover within ourselves? Are there fundamental truths that, when embraced, enable us to lead a life of freedom and love?

The Christian message asserts that when we allow our identity to arise from how God views us and what God has done for us in Jesus, we are liberated to live as we were designed. In this five-week series based on the book of 1 John, we explore the identity that God offers to humanity through the gospel. We also unearth how the practices of Bible reading and prayer fuel the new identity of a Christian and reorient our lives in that light.
